Bryan Tan & Goh Chin Chye
Aging Gates and Doors Prints on Archival Paper What lies beyond these doors are our dreams. Very often, as we grow older, our priorities change. Our responsibilities to our family, the need to survive in this competitive environment are some reasons that restrict us from stepping through these doors. As time goes by, we learn to be content with what we have, we convince ourselves to believe that we have already stepped through all our doors. In reality, those doors age beautifully and for some, never do open. |
Bryan TAN is a second-year student at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business in SMU. An avid photographer of 5 years, he hopes to encapsulate beauty through his lenses - dropping his camera into a waterfall while trekking in Nepal hasn't dampened his love and enthusiasm for photography. Bryan recently got bitten by the film bug and now enjoys roaming the streets to capture the fleeting moments of reality.
GOH Chin Chye is a film aficionado who embraces the control he gets in shooting film. In his words, film is a lot more forgiving than digital and he appreciates having this room for error. Chin Chye enjoys shooting old places in Singapore amidst its ever-changing cityscape – he does not mind lugging around his monstrous cameras in order to document these little fragments of Singapore's history.
