The Other Side, Trespassing Finiteness Mixed Media Installation “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” – Professor Randy Pausch, “The Last Lecture” This installation is a twist on the idea of overcoming obstacles; the opportunist's bid climb over the high brick walls—or even smash through them—that stand in the way of their heart's desire. It's about trespassing The infinity mirrors mimic a vortex providing the illusion of one being able to reach through the floor and ceiling, both impenetrable elements. This “portal” offers a way through any chasm that separates the viewer from what he wants. There is always a way out. All one needs is the will to seek it. The solution to one’s toughest problem or even the gateway to one’s ultimate goal. It's all on the other side. |
